Malena is the research officer responsible for the external evaluation of projects, including Keep Watch (toddler drowning prevention), Youth Water Safety and the Adult Water Safety, run by Royal Lifesaving Society Western Australia (RLSSWA). She has worked at the Collaboration for Evidence Research & Impact in Public Health (CERIPH) as part of the Drowning Prevention Evidence and Evaluation Project (DEEP) team at Curtin University for the past four years. She hold a Master in Public Health and Bachelor of Science (Psychology). Her work focuses on health promotion evaluation methods; evaluation of health related mass media campaigns and drowning prevention with previous experience in the primary health setting, particularly general practice, mental health and chronic disease management. She is a member of the Australian Health Promotion Association, and the Public Health Association of Australia.
