Stewart is the Lifeguard Operations Manager for the National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa and an advanced life support medic from Cape Peninsula University. He has been involved in the emergency services for over 18 years, more specifically in emergency medical care, Sea Rescue and Disaster Management. He is the author of the NSRI surf rescue manual, and developer of the lifeguard data collection APP which has collected over 130 preventative actions over its initial 2 month period, giving us insight into how effective certain prevention measures are. He is a Class 4 rescue coxswain specializing in surf search and rescue, teaching jet ski rescue training within the organisation.
