
Adam is Director of Beach Safety Consultants, an international consultancy providing expert witness services to the legal profession as well as support to organisations and businesses involved with drowning prevention. Adam has an academic background as well as an extensive experience in leadership and management at a strategic level having held roles including Chief Executive Officer of SLSGB, Head of Lifeguarding and Head of Coastal Safety & Research at the RNLI and Chief Operations Officer for SLSNZ. Adam is a current member of the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) Drowning Prevention Commission and peer reviewer for the Journal ‘Safety Science’. Adam was ILS Liaison person with the WHO when they were producing their “Guidelines for Safe Recreational Water Environments’ publications between 2002-2005. Adam co-edited the book ‘The Science of Beach Lifeguarding’, has contributed to several other books as well as numerous scientific papers, and in his professional roles commissioned many scientific research projects leading to various publications. Adam has also helped supervise several PhD theses.
