I am currently Head of Policy at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), specialising in drowning prevention, water safety and strategic policy development. My work focuses on strengthening water safety across the UK through evidence-based policy, partnership working and national leadership.

I serve as Secretariat for the National Water Safety Forum, providing leadership, coordination and strategic support to Water Safety England, Water Safety Wales and Water Safety Scotland (which I founded). Through this work, I support collaboration across governments, agencies, charities, emergency services and other key stakeholders to drive progress in drowning prevention and reduce water-related deaths.

I am a key author of the UK Drowning Prevention Strategy, alongside the devolved nations’ water safety strategies, and have played a key role in developing national drowning prevention policy. My work brings together policy development, governance, committee leadership and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on translating evidence into practical action.

Alongside my policy and leadership responsibilities, I am actively involved in research into drowning prevention and water safety. I currently have two papers published, with a further paper in progress and another under review, contributing to the growing evidence base and advancing understanding of drowning prevention across the UK. I am currently doing my PhD.
