Brigget Velasco, MPH PT – United States of America

Bridget Velasco is a public health educator with the Hawaii State Department Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention System Branch. She has been the Drowning and Spinal Cord Injury Prevention Coordinator for the last 4 years.

Bridget’s past public health work includes conducting needs assessments at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia and working in public health communications and research at the National Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health in Morgantown, West Virginia; she coordinated child passenger safety with the Hawaii State Department of Health.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, California. She is a licensed physical therapist and grew up in Kahului, Maui.
