Sam Proffitt is a paramedic/firefighter/ocean rescue lifeguard for the Town of Wrightsville Beach fire department. He has been a lifeguard since 2000 and currently serves as the medical lieutenant for ocean rescue, responsible for training, State and local drowning protocol revisions, and search and rescue. He received his iMPS from the Pennsylvania State University, Hershey School of Medicine, where he conducted extensive research in emerging technology in public safety and homeland security. He also obtained his MBA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School. Sam is currently pursuing his PhD in Business Research at Virginia Polytech Institute (Va Tech).
