Tom Mecrow is a public health researcher and programme practitioner, with a focus on drowning prevention in low-income countries. Tom has previously worked as a Research Fellow at the International Drowning Research Centre in Bangladesh (IDRC-B), as a consultant on a drowning prevention programme in India, and is a co-founder of the Nile Swimmers programme in Sudan. He is currently developing and implementing a number of drowning prevention programmes for the RNLI in both Tanzania and Ghana. He has a Masters in Public Health in Developing Countries and a particular interest in social barriers to programme implementation.
