Justine Leavy, PhD, MPH, BSc – Australia

Justine Leavy is a Teaching and Research Academic and completed her PhD in 2013 titled: An evaluation of a Western Australian state-wide physical activity mass media campaign from the University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on health promotion evaluation methods; health related mass media campaigns and their design and evaluation; drowning prevention and physical activity promotion. Together with colleagues she has secured grants for evaluation research in reducing sitting time, injury and drowning prevention. Her research has an emphasis on translational research.

Justine is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health and a Researcher with the Collaboration for Evidence, Research and Impact in Public Health at Curtin University. She is co-coordinating the Curtin University School of Public Health Honours program and is the Associate Director of students with an interest in English Language Proficiency. She is a Board Member for the Royal Life Saving Society of Western Australia, also the Australian Health Promotion Association, and a member of the Mass Media Advisory Panel for the US National Physical Activity Plan.
