Becky works as a public health engineer and researcher in South Africa. She is a trustee of Nile Swimmers and leads their Research and Vulnerable Communities programmes.  On behalf of RLSS Commonwealth, Becky developed the Emerging Leaders Workshops which give young people from Commonwealth countries the project management skills necessary to run drowning prevention projects. She has presented to the Commonwealth on how drowning links with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  She is interested in developing evidence-based, context-specific drowning prevention interventions for LMICs, and in the link between water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and drowning prevention.
