Gemma Crawford, PhD – Australia
Gemma has more than 15 years of experience in the practice, advocacy, teaching and research of health promotion and public health.
She is currently a Teaching and Research Academic with the Collaboration for Evidence Research and Impact in Public Health in the School of Public Health at Curtin University in Western Australia, national President of the Australian Health Promotion Association and Director of FoxPollardConsulting.
A proud pracademic, her practice and research experience spans injury prevention, physical activity, youth health and peer education, capacity building and workforce investment, political support for health promotion and prevention, knowledge translation, ethics and research impact, alcohol and other drugs, mental health, sexual health and BBVs, migration and working with hidden populations or those left behind.
Gemma currently manages a number of research and evaluation projects with WA non-government organisations in the injury sector, including the Royal Life Saving Society of Western Australia where she collaborates on “real world” research and evaluation initiatives, designed to improve the public’s health.
With strong national and international public health and health promotion networks, Gemma believes in the power of public health – changing lives 100,000 people at a time.
