Jamie Linnea Luchaus, BSc – Sweden

Jamie Linnea Luckhaus (MPH candidate, NC-EMT) is a second-year master’s in public health student at Lund University in Sweden with a background in water safety and serving at-risk populations. As a Swedish-American, Jamie has in-depth experience teaching aquatic skills through scouting in both countries. While serving as Aquatics Director over a lake waterfront for a Boy Scouts camp, Jamie served as lead instructor and area manager for all boating and water activities; among the various youth and adult trainings Jamie led were Paddle Craft Safety, Swimming and Water Rescue, and lifeguarding. While serving for AmeriCorps and as a swim instructor in Sweden, Jamie maintains focus on swimming and safety skills of immigrant and refugee populations. Jamie also holds a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
